For the past 15 years, I have found myself defined by my accomplishments in track. I am extremely proud of these achievements -- 3x Olympian, 2x World Bronze Medalist, World Champion & World Record Holder (DMR). But they do not fully define me.

I have also excelled academically, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Duke before going to earn my master’s degree in Humanities, with my focus being Women’s Studies and Film Studies. A life long advocate in women’s sports, I have worked with Nike and USATF to update maternity policies to make Track & Field more equitable. Most recently, I represented the US Department of State as a Sports Envoy to Morocco on the topic of “Women’s Empowerment Through Sport”. I also was selected from a large candidate pool to participate in Harvard Business School’s “Crossover Into Business” program.

I had my first child Sienna in 2018, after which I returned to top form, qualifying for the US Olympic Trials and setting the Master’s American Record 5K. My son Sebastian was born in March 2022. In this coming year, it is my deep desire to support Nike Women as they expand their offerings to serve a broader audience of women. I am currently working on a book about peripartum and postpartum training, with a target release in 2024/2025. In 2024, my goal is to return to competition, including racing my first marathon and setting additional Masters records. I want to show others that age is just a number and that becoming a mother doesn’t mean the end of a career!
