HITEC Summit
On May 8, 2024, Shannon Rowbury delivered a keynote at the HITEC Summit in Houston, Texas. Her talk, titled “Medalist Mindset™,” drew from her experiences as an Olympian, outlining the principles that helped her excel in sports and demonstrating how these principles apply in corporate settings. This philosophy, co-developed with Olympian Lauren Gibbs, highlights five key steps that support peak performance and success in both professional and personal life.

Shannon is also scheduled to speak at the C-Vision National Summit in Lisbon on November 14, 2024. Her session will introduce corporate leaders to her Medalist Mindset™ approach, illustrating how athletic mental resilience can drive innovation, strategic thinking, and effective leadership in the corporate sphere.

Empowerment Through Sports
In 2017, Shannon represented the US Department of State as a Sports Envoy to Morocco. In one week she reached 300+ athletes and coaches via small group, lectures, and hands on session. In 2022, Shannon continued her work with the Department of State when her non-profit Imagining More was awarded a Citizen Diplomacy Action Fund grand to host an empowerment through sport camp in Shannon’s hometown of San Francisco.

Shannon Rowbury presented at InfoSec World in Orlando, leading a Fun Run and delivering the Opening Keynote on the Medalist Mindset philosophy. She shared insights on how Olympian performance tools can help professionals achieve their goals, joined by her partner Bob West. The event included a Q&A session and a “Security Leadership Workshop” focused on goal-setting and action planning.
